Reel Quick
The festival will accept the first 15 teams registered to compete. Don't wait long to sign up, spots are going fast. All 15 teams will have their short films screened at the 2008 Vail Film Festival.
At noon on April 3, all teams will be given an official Reel Quick Film Competition form outlining what characters, locations, props and lines of dialogue must appear in their film. Filmmakers have 2 days to make a 3 – 5 minute film.
Teams may then begin the filmmaking process. Filming locations will be confined to the Vail Valley. Once the film is shot filmmakers may then edit their film, but must provide themselves with an editing system.
There will be an indoor central location for filmmakers to set up a home-base for pre-production, post production, coffee breaks and cat naps!
All films turned in on time (Saturday, April 5 at noon) will then be screened and voted on by the viewing audience.
The winning film will receive the complete Final Cut Pro Studio 2 Package, Epson 1080p Projector, filmmaker passes for the filmmaking team to the 2009 festival and the next short the team makes will be played at the 2009 Vail Film Festival. Total prizes valued at $8,000.
