VAIL FILM FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES 2007 FILM
SELECTIONS AND FESTIVAL JURORS

63 Films From Around the World to be Screened at Festival

VAIL, Colo., March 21, 2007—The Vail Film Festival, with presenting sponsor Best Life magazine, today announced the jurors and complete line–up of films selected to be screened at the 2007 Festival, taking place March 29–April 1, 2007 at America’s top–rated ski resort in Vail, Colorado. The Festival will screen 63 films from around the world, including 12 feature films and 51 documentaries, short films, Oscar shorts, action sports, and student films.

The 2007 Vail Film Festival opens on Thursday, March 29 with a screening of SNOW CAKE, starring an ensemble cast that includes Alan Rickman, Sigourney Weaver, Carrie–Anne Moss, David Fox, Jayne Eastwood, Emily Hampshire and James Allodi. A drama focused on the friendship between a high–functioning autistic woman (Weaver) and a man (Rickman) who is traumatized after a fatal car accident.

RED ROAD was selected as the closing film on Saturday, March 31. Starring Kate Dickie, Tony Curran, Martin Compston, Nathalie Press and Andrew Armour. Winner of the Cannes Jury Prize, five BAFTA Scotland Awards, and two British Independent Film Awards. The film revolves around Jackie (Dickie) who works as a CCTV operator. Each day she watches over a small part of the world, protecting the people living their lives under her gaze. One day a man appears on her monitor, a man she thought she would never see again, a man she never wanted to see again. Now she has no choice, she is compelled to confront him.

Other feature film highlights at this year’s festival include: KNOCKED UP from writer/directorJudd Apatow, director of The 40 Year—Old Virgin, starring Katherine Heigl, Seth Rogen, Leslie Mann and Paul Rudd; TWO TICKETS TO PARADISE starring D.B. Sweeney, Paul Hipp and John C. McGinley; and DAYDREAMER starring Aaron Paul, Arielle Kebbel, Chris McKenna and Caroline D’Amore.

Filmmakers Scott and Sean Cross founded the festival to foster new filmmakers and encourage innovative filmmaking. "We are very proud and excited by this year’s line–up of stellar films," said Sean Cross. "This year’s festival promises to be extremely entertaining for film lovers and filmmakers alike, with many of the actors and filmmakers coming out to present their films and take part in special industry events, panels and discussions. Passes are also selling out quickly, so we are encouraging guests to purchase their tickets in advance."
